The test repertoire offered includes faecal parasites, bacteriology, virology and fungal culture.

The team currently consists of over 120 staff, with a range of clerical, laboratory support staff and scientific staff.

Useful microbiological results are only obtained when an appropriately taken specimen, in the correct container, accompanied by a fully completed request form, reaches the laboratory as quickly as possible after collection.

Clinical advice on the investigation of infections may be obtained from the Consultant Microbiologists covering your area.
