The specialist clinical biochemistry laboratories are located across BCPS Hospitals.
Our specialist services are offered to our own hospital patients, and we also act as a referral centre for the rest of the United Kingdom and Internationally. We offer tests that harness the power of modern clinical science that help with efficient and effective patient care.
The specialist services laboratories have been a centre of innovation and excellence for over 20 years. Over the years we have developed an expertise in a range of analytical techniques that are needed to define the specialist services.
Our specialist analytical areas are:
- ICPMS -Trace Elements
- Mass spectrometry – Endocrine and metabolites
- FTIR – renal stone analysis
- Biological drug testing
- GCMS & Time of Flight – Toxicological analysis
Our laboratories provide a high quality clinical and analytical service fully accredited by UKAS and supported through extensive internal quality control and external quality assurance. We have an active training and development system accredited by the IBMS, ACB, and the Royal Colleges of Pathologists and Physicians. We provide clinical advice across the services we offer.
