Intro:

Indication: Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) Further information: Anti LKM antibodies are associated with type two autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and in some patients they are associated with hepatitis C infection. LKM antibodies are found only in a small number of patients with autoimmune chronic active hepatitis and drug-induced hepatitis, but are highly specific. Forms part of the Liver Auto-immune profile which includes tests for: • Mitochondrial antibody (AMA) • Smooth muscle antibody (SMA) • Liver- kidney microsomal antibody (LKM) • Gastric Parietal antibody (GPC)
