Further information:Thyroglobulin is a tumour marker for subjects with treated differentiated thyroid cancer. Measurement of thyroglobulin is of no value in the initial diagnosis since elevated values are found in benign thyroid disease.
Thyroglobulin antibodies are measured in conjuction with thyroglobulin as they may interfere in the assay giving erroneous results.
