Indication:ANCA Vasculitis specifically:
• Glomerulonephritis (especially rapidly progressive)
• Pulmonary haemorrhage (especially pulmonary renal syndrome)
• Cutaneous vasculitis with systemic features
• Multiple lung nodules
• Chronic destructive disease of upper airways
• Long-standing sinusitis or otitis
• Subglottic tracheal stenoses
• Mononeuritis multiplex or other peripheral neuropathies
• Retro-orbital mass
• Scleritis
Further information:
NOTE: MPO and PR3 will be performed as a first-line screen for vasculitis.
Other conditions may result in false positive ANCA testing either by immunofluorescence or immunoassay methods. For example, infective endocarditis, tuberculosis, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis B & C, malignancy.
