Complex Reference Range:Solid stools will not be processed for CDIFF testing. Please send only if stools are liquid or semi-liquid ( >5 on Bristol Stool Chart). C. difficile cannot be requested separately- user must request routine faeces culture.

Collection Conditions / Other Information:Specimen may be passed into a clean, dry, disposable bedpan or similar container and transferred into a blue faeces container. 1-2g is sufficent. It is important to transport samples for CDIFF testing to the lab as soon as possible or out of hours to place in fridge as the toxin deteriorates at room temperature. For a same day result please ensure samples arrive in laboratory no later than 2pm.
