Throat or nose swab, or a nasopharyngeal aspirate, in viral transport media (Virocult)Complex Reference Range:For patients with symptoms of <2 weeks only send either A swab (charcoal swabs are inappropriate) or NPA for PCR.
If symptoms > 2 weeks, please send serology (EXCEPTION: children < 1 year who have been hospitalised should have NPA or swab sent for PCR regardless of symptom duration).
