Indication: Immunodeficiency Further information: Functional antibodies should only be requested if there is a clinical suspicion of antibody deficiency (primary or secondary). The recommended first line Immunology tests are:- • Immunoglobulin levels (IgG, IgA and IgM) • Electrophoresis The second line testing, which includes functional antibodies, should only be requested if:- • There is a strong clinical history of recurrent or persistent infection • At least 2 Immunoglobulin isotypes are lower than reference limits • To assess immune response to vaccines (pre- and post-vaccine) Please note that whole cell pneumococcal assays may not provide accurate information in children who have previously received Prevenar13 vaccination.Requestable Seperately?Yes
