Collection Conditions / Other Information:Sample takers must have received liquid based cytology sample taker training and have been issued with a PIN. Specimens must be collected using a cervex brush (a cytobrush sample may also be taken where previous glandular abnormalities have been detected). 5x circular sweeps of the cervix, with the longer portion of the cervex brush inserted into the os, is required. The cervex brush (and cytobrush if used) must be thoroughly rinsed in the fixative solution within LBC sample vial. Tighten cap on vial so lines on lid and base meet. Complete sample label with name and DOB of pateint and fill in HMR101 request form. Return to cytology department in the transport box provided.
