Test Category: Specialist BiochemistryToxicology
Investigation Name:Clozapine

Alias or Abbreviation:CLZ
Intro:
Clozapine is used to treat schizophrenic illness and other neuropsychiatric diseases that do not respond to standard therapy. Clozapine can cause serious side effects and complications such as hypertension, neutropenia, and seizures. Norclozapine is a metabolite of clozapine and concentrations of these are measured to assess patient compliance, optimise dosage and minimise the risk of dose related toxicology.Pathology Laboratory:Toxicology Laboratory
