Abnormal results:
 Type 1 - Monoclonal Immunoglobulin (usually IgM) associated with malignant disease.
 Type 2 – Mixed cryoglobulins usually with rheumatoid factor activity found in some LPDs but are generally found to be idiopathic.
 Type 3 – Mixed cryoglobulins consisting of immune complexes (polyclonal). Associated with “aberrant immunity” eg SLE, RA, infection (particularly Hep C).
 Cryofibrinogen present. Cryofibrinogenaemia is a disorder that occurs without any other health concerns (rare), or secondary to various disorders, including: specific cancers (such as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and colorectal cancer), autoimmune diseases, malignancies, and infections

Patient should attend main OPD or Phlebotomy where all pre-warmed collection equipment (at 37°C) is available.
