Complex Reference Range:If OD <0.4 result HIT Negative, If OD 0.401-1.00 Equivocal result - Possible HIT Positive. If result is >0.401 a heparin neutralising step will be performed, if the % inhibition is >50% then result is Probable HIT Positive. If OD >1.00 then result is Probable HIT Positive. For probable HIT positive results suggest send for Functional HIT assay (Serotonin Releasing assay).
