Intro:
Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic commonly used in the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. While routine therapeutic drug monitoring is not standard practice for all patients on olanzapine, measurement may be indicated in suspected non-compliance or when patients exhibit suboptimal therapeutic response or unexpected adverse effects, such as excessive sedation, metabolic disturbances, or extrapyramidal symptoms, which may suggest either underdosing or toxicity.Pathology Laboratory:Toxicology Laboratory
