Test Category: Specialist Biochemistry
Investigation Name:Oxalate (Urine)- Random/ 24hr

Accreditation:UKAS ISO15189 accredited test: On scope
Intro:
Urinary oxalate is measured as part of the urine renal stone screen. Urinary hyperoxaluria is associated with an increased risk of formation of calcium oxalate renal calculi.Oxalate in urine may arise either as a metabolic end product or from dietary sources. Undetected hyperoxaluria can lead to oxalosis where oxalate is deposited in blood vessels, bones and body organs.
