Consumable Stock Ordering and Storage

Stock ordering:
All Hologic ThinPrep consumables necessary for taking HPV primary cervical screening specimens are now distributed by an external distribution centre via the hospital couriers. Service users requiring stock can do so by using the contact emails and numbers given above.  

Email completed forms with your practice code & ‘Cytology stock request’ in the subject line to: rwh-tr.pathologyorders@nhs.net.

Please note: Telephone or fax orders are not accepted.

We do not supply or recommend the routine use of endocervical brushes but on the very rare occasion where their use is indicated they may be purchased direct from the supplier CellPath who can be contacted by telephoning01686 611 333 or e-mail info@cellpath.com. Stock storage:
Hologic ThinPrep vials and cervex brushes should be stored at room temperature (15 to 30°C) on open shelves.  We do not recommend sample takers hold vast quantities of stock and it should be rotated to ensure it does not exceed the use by date. Vials must have a minimum of 14 days before expiry when taking samples. Out of date vials are rejected. Please note dates on vials are in American format (MM/DD/YY).
